Government Degree College, Faridpur was established by U.P.State Govt. on 17-10-1998 in   order to augment higher education among rural youth of Tahsil Faridpur and adjoining areas. This college is located at Bareilly-Lucknow National Highway No.24, near Faridpur town of District Bareilly.The college provides affordable  education to both boys & Girls. The catchment area of the college is mostly rural.

The college is affiliated with M.J.P.Rohilkhand University, Bareilly. The college has been recognized U/S 2(f) and 12 (B) of the U.G.C., New Delhi on Nov. 3, 2008.

UGC Assistance - for the first time the college has received central assistance in the form of UGC grant under General development scheme and merged scheme.

NAAC Assessment- The college has submitted LOI and IEQA to the NAAC,Banglore for its assessment and accreditation.
